I bought this after looking at the online reviews. I have run about a thousand feet of oak through it without any issues. Good planer.

This is a great little planer for the price. I bought this from this Irish website as I’ve had serious issues with amazon packages three weeks late or not showing...

very impressed with the build and finish. Planed an old floor we were restoring without any issues. Did trip it out when we tried feeding a few boards at once....

Overall a very good planer. Eats through boards up to 9 inches after that you need to take smaller amounts. Folds up nicely and is easy to move from job...

Are there any special tips for planer & thicknessers?

Yes. there are five very important issues to remember. These tips will help you get long and satisfactory use of your machine. The first is that the beds of both planers and thicknessers must be cleaned and degreased thoroughly before the first operation and then have a protective coat applied to these surfaces such as wax or other machine protection coating. These surfaces should offer little resistance to the movement of the wood passing over it. This will require regular maintenance and application over the life of the machine. The second is that there must be adequate dust collection at all times and that the feed mechanisms and other areas prone to dust and chip build-up must be blown off regularly. The third issue is that particularly during their early operation their drive belts must be inspected and re-tensioned as required. Number four would be not to overload the machine by attempting to plane too much in one pass. The final piece of advice we would offer is that sharp blades are critical to the satisfactory operation of your planer and should be changed as required.
