Screw Air Compressors
Sometimes called a rotary screw compressor they employ a continuously rotating screw type mechanism which does away with the need for a piston system along with its pulsed sound. As it is continuously compressing air it is more efficient than a piston system which only compresses air on the upstroke. Screw compressors tend to be paired with large horsepower 3 phase motors for use in industrial and manufacturing operations where high output and or continuous operation is required.
